Silent or Standing- The Test of Truth in Ramadan

Ramadan is more than just fasting—it is a test of our faith, our resilience, and our unwavering commitment to Allah’s commands.

As we pass the 7^th day Taraweeh, we are reminded of the powerful lesson in Surah Al-A’raf, where Allah (SWT) recounts the story of the people of Saturday (Sabbath), divided into three groups: those who transgressed, those who remained silent, and those who stood for truth.

With state of the Ummah today, which category do we fall into?

• Are we among those complicit in injustice?
• Are we among those silent in the face of oppression?
• Are we among those who rise for the truth, speak against injustice, and stand for Islam?

Taraweeh Teachings Day 6- The Mercy of Allah (swt)

Reflecting on the vast mercy of Allah(swt), we are reminded that His(swt) compassion precedes His(swt) wrath. He(swt) has written upon Himself to be merciful, and His mercy encompasses all of creation. Out of the 100 portions of mercy, only one has been placed in this world—evident in the love between a mother and child, the kindness among animals, and the bonds of humanity. The remaining 99 are reserved for the Day of Judgment.

Should we rely on anyone other than Allah, the One who provides and is not in need of provision? Should we not fear the punishment of straying from His command?

Imagine standing before Allah, trying to offer everything—wealth, status, even the entire world—to escape the punishment of Hellfire, only to realize that no ransom will be accepted.

Islam provides a clear, simple path to avoid hellfire and attain Jannah: submission to Allah alone, free from nationalism, tribalism, or pride in anything other than being a Muslim. Yet, we have allowed divisions to shatter our unity, labeling ourselves by nationality or lineage instead of embracing the identity that Allah has given us—Muslims.

The Power of Contemplation and Supplication

The last ten verses of Surah Al-Imran are deeply profound and recommended by the Prophet ﷺ as part of our morning remembrance (adhkar). These ayat transition seamlessly from reflecting on Allah’s creation to invoking du’a and then witnessing Allah’s direct response.

“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of the night and day, are signs for those of understanding.”
(Surah Al-Imran 3:190)

The Qur’an repeatedly calls us to reflect on the natural world, using it as evidence of Allah’s existence. When true believers engage in this reflection, their hearts naturally turn to du’a—seeking forgiveness, mercy, and salvation.

This dunya is a test—but Allah’s mercy is infinite.

May we be among those who turn to Him with sincerity and receive His ultimate reward in the Hereafter.

O Allah, accept our supplications, grant ease to the oppressed, and guide us on the straight path. Ameen!

Reflection on the 101st Anniversary of the Abolition of the Khilafah

Today is the 4^th  day of Ramadan, 1446 AH / March 3, 2025—a date that marks 101 years since the abolition of the Ottoman Khilafah by Mustafa Kemal in Ankara.

Last night, during Taraweeh, the Imam recited a powerful ayah from Surah Al-Imran (3:26):

“Say, O Allah, Master of the Kingdom! You give sovereignty to whom You will and take sovereignty from whom You will; You honor whom You will and humble whom You will. In Your hand is all good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.”

This ayah perfectly encapsulates the tragedy of our loss—but also our hope for the future.

"Those to whom people said, ‘The enemy has gathered against you, so fear them,’ but it only increased them in faith, and they said: ‘Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.’"(Surah Al-Imran 3:173)

This ayah captures a defining moment in Islamic history—after the Battle of Uhud, when the Quraysh planned another attack, hoping to crush the Muslims once and for all.

Instead of succumbing to fear, the believers' Iman increased, and their response was absolute trust in Allah:

"Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakil" (Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs).

Islam is not just about hope—it is about action driven by unwavering faith.
May we be among those who say "Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakil" with conviction and act accordingly.

In Surah An-Nisa, Allah lays down the framework for the relationship between men and women, particularly within marriage. This surah addresses responsibilities, rights, and the divine balance that Allah has created between the two genders.

"Men are the protectors and maintainers (qawwamoon) of women, because Allah has made one excel over the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their wealth." (Surah An-Nisa 4:34)

This does not imply superiority or control, but rather a responsibility of care, provision, and protection.

This Ramadan, may we renew our commitment to following Allah’s commands in every aspect of our lives, including marriage and family life. Ameen!

“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not be divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you—when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the brink of a pit of fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make His signs clear to you, so that you may be guided.” (Surah Aal Imran 3:103)

This verse is a reminder to all Muslims that our unity is not based on nationality, race, or ethnicity, but on our adherence to Islam and the Quran.

Let’s hold fast to the Rope of Allah, reject the divisions planted by our enemies, and revive the true spirit of Islamic brotherhood.

“This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those who are conscious of Allah.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:2)

This bold claim is unmatched in human literature—no book by any scholar or scientist begins with such an absolute statement. It is because the Quran is the direct word of Allah—error-free, containing complete guidance on how to live our lives, from worship to social dealings, business, family, and governance.

It’s time to understand it deeply, implement it fully, and use it as our framework for life.

Ramadan Reflection 1- 2025 Dr Abdul Wahid

Last night during Taraweeh, a simple yet profound moment unfolded. The imam recited a short passage from Surah Al-Baqarah, including the ayah:

“Establish the Salah, give the Zakah, and bow down with those who bow.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:43)

Immediately upon reaching this command, he made takbir and went into ruku, and we all followed.

This incident made Dr. Wahid reflect: Isn’t this how we should treat all of Allah’s commands?

🔹 When we hear “Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High”, we say Subhana Rabbiyal A‘la.
🔹 When we hear “Send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ”, we say Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad.
🔹 But why don’t we apply the same principle to the rest of the Quran’s commands?
